The Kindergarten students were amazed with excitement as they rode the Polar Express and the ringing bell! Thank you to the 7th grade elves that shared the ride with their Kindergarten friends. A special thanks to Mrs. Jacobsen and Mrs. Durkin who added all the magic to the ringing bell. Thanksgiving activities have filled our halls and classrooms this week. Students in 2nd grade enjoyed “dressing” a turkey with pre-made stickers during their World Language class. Their papers included a special Thanksgiving prayer to share with their families. We have so much to be thankful for this time of year. Enjoy this Thanksgiving day with family and friends and reflect on your many blessings. #SJRproud, #WeAreSJR, #archphilly, #AOPS_schools, @aops_schools ... See MoreSee Less

Today our school community gathered together for a special Thanksgiving Prayer Service. This week each student made a grateful leaf that was placed at the alter and the 4th grade added pumpkins of thanks. The Pre-K sang “A Thankful Heart” and the 2nd grade sang “What A Wonderful World”. Fr. Muka reminded us as to the importance of having a thankful heart each and every day! #SJRproud, #archphilly, #AOPS_schools, Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools - AOPS, #WeAreSJR ... I would like to thank & commend the students in the SJSR Service Corps. My husband passed away recently. For All Souls Day they delivered a lovely note & plant to my home. It touched my heart beyond words. Thank You All so very much🙏

What a great project! 💕

Friday was an exciting day as our students, faculty, and families enjoyed our annual SJR Home and School Association Walkathon through our beautiful neighborhood. This event is one of our largest fundraisers of the year. The proceeds support nursing services at SJR and health initiatives like CPR and first aid training for our faculty and staff. We are still accepting donations thru 11/30. To donate, go to our link on the homepage of our website: www.stjstr.org. If you prefer, we also accept cash/check donations. We are truly grateful for your support. #WeAreSJR, #SJRproud,#archphilly, #AOPS_schools, Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools - AOPS ... See MoreSee Less
