Last Thursday, SJR celebrated Catholic Schools Week with a focus on vocations and were blessed to welcome a very special guest, Dr. Antoinette Marie Reaves. She has dedicated her vocation to serving others through education, ministry, and community leadership. Mrs. Reaves has lead church choirs, created musicals, and taught people about their faith. She recently earned her Doctorate in Urban Ministry. Ms. Razler, Kindergarten teacher, introduced Dr. Reaves to the 3rd - 8th grade students. Dr. Reaves was the former Director at Cabrini Campus Ministry where Ms. Razler earned her Education Degree. Ms. Razler gained so much spiritual inspiration from Dr. Reaves and was so excited to welcome Dr. Reaves to SJR! Dr Reaves engaged our students, offering reflections on the beauty of God’s calling to a vocation that we love. Our vocation is calling us to be loving, holy, kind, caring, and faithful children of God. We thank Dr.Reaves for her talents and inspiring us to value our worth as God’s children and chosen vocation that our students are working to achieve throughout their academic, spiritual, and community service journey. Dr. Reaves’ spirit resonated throughout CSW as many students shared the value and reflections of her presentation. #SJRproud. #WeAreSJR, #archphilly, #AOPS_schools, @aops_schools ... Hope to see all our parents at the HSA Meeting!
Wednesday, Feb 5th | 6:30 PM | School Cafeteria

We will have an amazing speaker, Dr. Mary Coakley, who will be speaking about how we can help our children develop the skills to solve social problems.

All parents who attend will receive a dress down day pass for their children!

We will also be holding a drawing for attendees at the end of the year. If you attend the meeting Wednesday evening and then the final meeting of the year, you will receive 1 entry to win $200. If you attend the 2 remaining meetings and attended the first meeting as well, you will receive 2 entries to win $200. #SJRproud, #WeAreSJR, #archphilly, Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools - AOPS, #AOPS_schools

Our Community Service Project for the Next Step (TNS) Program has been in full swing throughout CSW. Our dress down day raised 650.00 dollars. With the proceeds, we purchased 2 Nintendo switches and a family membership gift card for TNS. We are continuing to collect donations for the following: basketballs, painting canvases, and gift cards of any amounts to Target, Amazon, Michael’s, and food stores. These donations will be used by TNS for their social group activities, skill building lessons, and cooking classes. Please bring any donations to school by Monday, February 3rd. Thank you for your continued generosity. #WeAreSJR, #SJRproud, #archphilly, #AOPS_schools, Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools - AOPS, #TheNextStep, The Next Step Programs ... See MoreSee Less
